Very expands CFO role

The Very Group, which owns online retailor Very has promoted its chief financial officer to the newly created role of chief finance and transformation officer.

Ben Fletcher, who first joined the company in 2020 to lead the finance team, will oversee the development of the business’ operating model and explore new ways of working which increase customer-centricity. He will continue to be part of Very’s executive team and board.

Fletcher has previously worked at Clarks Shoes, where he was responsible for investments including a European fulfilment centre and was managing director of Boots Opticians, he has also held roles at Procter & Gamble.

Commenting on the news Lionel Desclée, group chief executive at The Very Group, said: “We need to consistently land customer-focused change in the ways we work. This will position us to give the families we serve, as well as our people, the best possible experiences.”

He added: “Ben is the ideal person to represent transformation at the executive table and lead these exciting developments in our business over the coming years.”
